Arumugam Academy Matric Higher Secondary School
Arumugam Academy Matriculation Higher Secondary School,
Aravakurichi, was established on 3rd June 1996 by the
Chinnasamy Gounder Sellathal (CS) Trust with the noble vision
of imparting quality education to the rural masses of
Aravakurichi and its surrounding regions. The Trust,
registered in 1995, has continuously worked to uplift society
through education and social service, beginning with
initiatives such as free eye camps in partnership with K.G.
Hospital, Coimbatore.
The school has grown into a renowned institution known for its
academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student
development. Guided by eminent academicians including Dr. C.
Subramaniam, Former Vice Chancellor of Tamil University,
Tanjore, and Former Registrar of Bharathiar University,
Coimbatore, the academy blends modern pedagogy with strong
values to nurture every child into a confident and responsible
citizen.
Over the years, Arumugam Academy has celebrated many
milestones, including its Silver Jubilee in 2020–2021, and has
produced state and district rank holders in board
examinations. A proud moment in the school’s history was when
Hon. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, graced
the Annual Day in 2015–2016. Inspired by the school’s unique
foundation—established in memory of a beloved teacher—Dr.
Kalam praised it as “the only school I have seen that was
started in the name of a teacher,” recognizing the deep
respect shown for educators.
Today, the institution stands as a beacon of knowledge and character building, with a commitment to academic growth, extracurricular excellence, and value-based education. True to its motto “Puthiathor Ulagam Seyvom” (Let us create a new world), Arumugam Academy continues to empower students to face the future with confidence and integrity.

✨ Messages & Memories
A defining moment in the history of Arumugam Academy was
the visit of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of
India, during the Annual Day celebrations of 2015–2016.
His presence, interaction, and motivational words remain
etched in the hearts of our students, teachers, and
community.
In his keynote address, Dr. Kalam expressed his admiration
for the school’s unique foundation, stating:
“I have travelled across India meeting lakhs of
students, but this is the only school I have seen that
was started in the name of a teacher. I truly salute the
respect shown to a beloved teacher.”
He further emphasized the vital role of teachers and
parents in shaping students’ lives and inspiring them to
reach their full potential. His heartfelt words continue
to inspire the entire Arumugam Academy family to uphold
values of respect, knowledge, and service.
We are also proud to have celebrated our 20th anniversary
in 2015 and our Silver Jubilee in 2020–2021, milestones
that reflect our journey of excellence. The memories of
Dr. Kalam’s visit, highlighted in The Hindu Tamil
(30.07.2015) under the title “Kalam’s Memories: Last
Speech with Students in Tamil Nadu”, stand as a lasting
tribute to our vision and legacy.

About the Trust
The Chinnasamy Gounder Sellathal (C.S.) Trust was established
in 1995 with the noble mission of promoting education and
social welfare in rural communities.
Headquartered at Mamarathupatti, Dharapuram Taluk, Tirupur
District, the Trust began its journey with impactful social
service activities, including a free eye camp in partnership
with K.G. Hospital, Coimbatore.
Under the visionary leadership of eminent academicians and
philanthropists, the Trust laid the foundation of Arumugam
Academy Matriculation Higher Secondary School in 1996, to
provide quality education to the children of Aravakurichi and
nearby regions.
The Trust is guided by a strong board of trustees, led by Dr.
C. Subramaniam, Former Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University,
Thanjavur, ensuring that the institution upholds excellence,
discipline, and holistic development.
